With the verdict of 12 September 1998 – 312 O 58/98 – ‘Liability for Links’, the Regional Court of Hamburg ruled that by placing a link on one’s website, one may also be responsible for the content of the linked pages. This can be prevented – so the regional court – only by dissociating oneself expressly from these contents.
